National Night Out
Celebrate National Night Out at your local library! Join us on August 2 at both the Pacific Beach Library and Serra Mesa-Kearny Mesa Library for a community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. You are invited to come to eat, enjoy activities, and get to know your neighbors, local police, and elected officials.

Arts at the Library

Artwork created by N1FTey using artificial intelligence
Visit the second floor of the Central Library to see an exhibition of work by local artist N1FTey, generated using artificial intelligence. The topic of each piece in this exhibit comes from the philosopher Immanuel Kant's Logic, while the works are created in the style of oil paintings by James Gurney. On view until August 20. On August 20, the San Diego Festival of Books returns to in-person for the first time since 2019! The Library Shop and your San Diego Public Library will be there with booths and a full slate of authors. Capacity is limited so register today!

After losing her right lung to stage 4 cancer, Edie Littlefield Sundby became the first person in history to walk the entire 1,600-mile El Camino Real mission trail through the mountain wilderness of Mexico to Northern California. Hear her story.
